Hi Everybody,

Now, you probably must be wondering about this sentence, but for our home work we had to answer these questions for the Yr 4′s that will be going into Yr 5 next year!

Here are the questions.

So, if you were the teacher what would you change?
What would you add and what would you take away?
What did you enjoy and what did you dislike?
What should you have had more of and what less of?

So here are my answers to these interesting questions,

So, if you were the teacher what would you change?
Well, Yr 5 has been so great, but if I was the teacher, I would allow us to take our Netbooks (small laptops), home 3 times a week to finish homework from school, because it is hard to save once we access it. I would also change desk arrangements. I would allow us to change every 2 weeks and have 2 systems that we change around. The first system is, sit with 1 friend, and 2 girls who you don’t play with all the time in the playground, and sit with 2 girls in one house colour, 2 in the other, and two in the other, then 2 in the other house colour.

What would you add and what would you take away?

In Yr 5, we have many fun subjects, but if I was to add more of one it would be drama or fun school projects. I really enjoy drama, but we hardly get to do it, because we only have it once every two weeks, but don’t have time to do that subject, so I would add another lesson, in a time when it was available for us to do. I would choose to do plays or skit, drama warm ups and games. Plus, it would give the other girls a chance to express themselves through moves and acting.

The choice on school projects sound weird, I mean, more work? Wow! Don’t we get enough? I don’t think so. At the moment, my class is learning about ‘Rocks and Minerals’ in Science. If I were the teacher, I would give out a school project where we could choose a rock from the garden and research about it to see what type of rock it is, and then present our work on a poster, and of course we would do it at school, because it would be easier for the girls if they needed help, as teachers do know everything! Also, school projects can be big or little ones, a little to research, or a lot to research. It could vary as we went through the year!

If I was to take away anything, if I was to take away, ANYTHING? Well, no doubt it would be math (kidding!)!! Maths is compulsory, which means you have to do it at school. But I’m happy to do maths, it’s good to learn about circles and multiplication and adding roman numerals and finding the average of 4, 6 and 2 (which by the way is 4)! Anyway, back to the topic, I wouldn’t really eliminate any subjects!

What did you enjoy and what did you dislike?

Of course, this year, everything has been a joy, like Camp and learning new things and developing new skills and performing the musical we worked on this term, but I cannot pick one thing! So, the list I just well.. listed, has been some of the enjoyable things, but there are heaps of others like, working on our Antarctica unit for HSIE, doing Novel Study, Leadership day, Biggest Morning Lunch (sounds weird right?) and the excursions to different places.

I didn’t dislike anything this year, except for NAPLAN. That was annoying! NAPLAN is this test thing you do. ou do 4 tests. An English test, a spelling test, a maths test and a writing test. But, after the tests we had a making memories day!

What should you have had more of and what less of?

As I said before, I would really like more time for drama, because we hardly get to do it in class. I also think we should have double lessons of maths, so we can have some other days not doing it, like one each week.

Now that I’ve finished telling you all about what I would do, it’s now your turn.

So, if you were the teacher what would you change?
What would you add and what would you take away?
What did you enjoy and what did you dislike?
What should you have had more of and what less of?

Please answer in a comment!
